On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). Along with the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, the law put in place comprehensive health insurance reforms. The law makes preventive care—including family planning and related care—more accessible and affordable for many Americans. However, it has also set strict rules and regulations that require business compliance, tracking, reporting, planning, etc.
The information provided at this training is intended to assist employers in understanding their role and responsibilities in implementing the new law.
Bill Strickland is the President and Principal of L&W Insurance Agency in Dover. L&W is one of the largest Independent Agencies in Delaware and currently employs 38 full-time employees. He has worked in the insurance business for over 25 years with a primary focus on Employee Benefits. Bill is a native Delawarean and a graduate of the former Salisbury State College (now Salisbury University) with a degree in Marketing. He currently resides in Dover with his wife Okemah.
Active in the local community, Bill currently serves on the Board of Directors for Kent & Sussex Industries, Wesley College, Delaware Solid Waste Authority and BayHealth Medical Center. He is also the chair of the current BayHealth Capital Campaign for the new Milford Hospital.
