     October Meeting Topic:

The Business Case and ROI for Diversity Management

The United Sates is undergoing a profound and deep-rooted metamorphosis in its population, its culture and the very manner in which business is conducted.  This transformation very well may be the greatest cultural and economic shift this country ever has known.

To successfully compete in the United States and globally, companies must have effective and aggressive diversity management.  The evidence to corroborate this statement can be found in the balance sheets of the Top50 Companies for Diversity.  The repercussions of ignoring diversity are apparent in the closed factories and empty offices of their competition.

I will discuss the bottom-line benefits of integrating diversity into every facet of business, especially the line functions directly related to revenue.  By ranking the diversity initiatives of American’s top companies each year, using strictly empirical data, I will show how these businesses are benefiting from the myriad opportunities a diverse work force brings to them, from capturing new sales opportunities to retaining more of the best employees and to effectively competing globally on a planet that is 80 percent non-white.

This narrative approach lays out specific facts and figures to support the importance of workplace diversity.  It includes tools that will be helpful to launching and measuring your own initiatives.
